Dave Weston Jr. Obituary – Scottish Rallying Community Mourns Beloved Competitor
It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of Dave Weston Jr., aged 35, a cherished member of the Scottish and British rallying community. Dave passed away on Saturday, bringing shock and heartbreak to his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Having battled pancreatitis last year, Dave had been resuming a near-normal life and had just returned to work when this tragedy occurred, making his passing all the more unexpected. He will be remembered not only as a talented and dedicated rally driver but also as a kind-hearted and genuine friend.
Dave began his rallying career in 2007 in a Ford Fiesta ST, quickly establishing himself as a formidable competitor. He celebrated his first rally victory in 2009 at the Malton Forest Rally driving a Subaru and continued to compete with passion and skill. His career highlights include winning his ‘home’ Coltel Grampian Stages Rally in 2016 and securing the BTRDA Gravel title in 2015, accomplishments that earned him respect and admiration throughout the motorsport community.
Friends and colleagues remember Dave for his infectious enthusiasm, dedication to the sport, and his generosity toward fellow competitors. He left an indelible mark both on and off the rally stage, inspiring younger drivers and forming lasting friendships.
